These little doodles of a magical unicorn, Sir Sparkles, and a flying pig, Mr. Fuzzywuggles, lived in the margins of my notebooks in college (Yes, I took notes in class. And in a notebook.). The margins of my notebook were exciting lands for them to explore, because all my poetry and daydreams and tangential theories and doodles and non-class related thoughts were found in the margins of those notebooks. So I thought it was fitting to bring them here to explore as well. Yes, I did make them in the “paint” program. 🙂
Anyhow, they represent how you can adventure even through your intellect and imagination and into philosophy and history and into so many other things besides just real, physical exotic lands. I love that expansive idea of adventure so much. Also, the flying pig has been my “life mascot” since high school, because to me it represents how anything is possible. As the term “when pigs fly” is commonly meant to mean something is impossible… so I use a flying pig to signify that I see life in terms of possibilities, rather than impossibilities.
Also, aren’t Sir Sparkles and Mr. Fuzzywuggles just such cute little adventurers?!
